Mangoeiro FC's Artur Aguiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raul Assunção in the 8th minute of play. Jacinto Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Leal having to interfere. Miguel Abreu struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Artur Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vilarinho. In the 25th minute Miguel Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Mangoeiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. Raul Assunção received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Artur Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 35 minutes, José Rodrigues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mangoeiro FC and the Vilarinho players grew even worse after the yellow card. José Rodrigues hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute, António Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 39 minutes into the game Pedro Carneiro came into a good position and shot a long shot on goal. In spite of Filipe Leal trying to reach the ball it went through just inside the left pole. 1-0. Filipe Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Trindade in the 45th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Raul Assunção had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Artur Aguiar. Mangoeiro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raul Assunção was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when André Trindade stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mangoeiro FC's goalkeeper Artur Aguiar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 59 minutes into the match, Vilarinho's Miguel Abreu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Artur Aguiar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Vilarinho's goalkeeper Filipe Leal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, Mangoeiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Abreu came free, but Artur Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacinto Fontes in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filipe Leal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 79 minutes, Alexandre Leão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mangoeiro FC and the Vilarinho players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Vilarinho booed when Mangoeiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Leão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raul Assunção struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Artur Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vilarinho. Filipe Leal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from André Trindade went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. André Trindade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Leal having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Vilarinho players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mangoeiro FC.
