In the 3rd minute, one of Rinchoa:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rinchoa. Gonçalo Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bento Sousa having to interfere. Gonçalo Santos struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Bento Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Resgais. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vítor Alves in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Pinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. André Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Coelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gonçalo Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Bento Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiago Simões recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 32 minutes, Vítor Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rinchoa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vítor Alves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute Inácio Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inácio Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo Trindade charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulo Trindade the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Rinchoa's Paulo Trindade got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gonçalo Santos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Tiago Simões came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Resgais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiago Simões couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Tiago Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot. Resgais's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Simões was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bento Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Moutinho during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Tiago Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Rinchoa getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Jorge Matias hit a great ball. Rinchoa's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
