After some careless play in the SC Senouras defense, Mariano Moreira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diogo Rodrigues. The SC Senouras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diogo Rodrigues should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in SC Senouras's zone, Carlos Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diogo Rodrigues came out of the goal and Carlos Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diogo Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. When Alexandre Setúbal fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Airao FC's protests and gave Alexandre Setúbal a yellow card for diving instead. Alexandre Setúbal hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, SC Senouras's Afonso Guarda ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eduardo Machado. Eduardo Machado yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. With an all-out effort, SC Senouras's Eduardo Machado threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Afonso Guarda, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Eduardo Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Guarda, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After 33 minutes of play, SC Senouras's Afonso Santos made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eduardo Machado was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eduardo Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Pires in the 44th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Guarda in the 62nd minute of play forced Airao FC's goalkeeper Eduardo Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricardo Delgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Eduardo Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Airao FC booed when SC Senouras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Delgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mariano Moreira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diogo Rodrigues having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Mariano Moreira took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Diogo Rodrigues to make any attempt to save it. After 79 played minutes SC Senouras got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Delgado. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Moreira got free with Diogo Rodrigues in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Afonso Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Nunes's late challenge caught a Airao FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jaime Nunes helped the player get up and apologised. Mariano Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 92 played minutes Airao FC got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Sá. The Airao FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented SC Senouras from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
