After a defensive mix-up in Coroinha FC's zone, Gustavo Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Reis came out of the goal and Gustavo Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Coroinha FC booed when Sandoeira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gonçalo Setúbal shot from long distance in the 19th minute, but Hélder Simões was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Cristiano Lopes charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 44th match minute, Sandoeira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. When Rui Nunes came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Coroinha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rui Nunes couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The long shot by Mariano Matos in the 54th minute really tested André Reis's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The supporters of Coroinha FC booed when Sandoeira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Without hesitation aimed to the right of André Reis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 71st minute, Sandoeira FC's Henrique Nogueira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. In the 74th minute, Cristiano Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Nunes in the 79th minute of play forced Sandoeira FC's goalkeeper Hélder Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diamantino Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sandoeira FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
