In the 5th minute Eduardo Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jacinto Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Jacinto Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Catarredor's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacinto Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simão Brás breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. António Reis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Gil Leal skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a little luck, SC Catarredor's Gil Leal got control of the ball when António Reis tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Catarredor's goalkeeper Gil Leal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eduardo Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Leal having to interfere. António Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Catarredor's Gil Leal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save SC Catarredor from getting a goal against them. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eduardo Lopes to make the kick off. Simão Brás showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Eduardo Maia's late challenge caught a Outeiros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduardo Maia helped the player get up and apologised. Eduardo Maia hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in SC Catarredor's zone, António Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil Leal came out of the goal and António Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute, SC Catarredor's Augusto Pedroso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. After some careless play in the Outeiros defense, Jacinto Nascimento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Simão Brás. The Outeiros fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Simão Brás should have stopped the shot. If Jacinto Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The goalkeeper, Simão Brás, was totally fooled by SC Catarredor's Rogério Miranda, who 97 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Catarredor eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
