In the 4th minute André Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexandre Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. If André Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st match minute, Rabacos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Duarte Fernandes, 22 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Humberto Freitas during the 32nd minute. After having played for 38 minutes, Paulo Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rabacos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Leão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 45 minutes, Paulo Leão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rabacos and the Seca players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Rabacos getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Alfredo Pereira hit a great ball. After having played for 49 minutes, André Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Seca's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Melo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Leão was the one to do the kick off. Amílcar Oliveira charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amílcar Oliveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 56 minutes, Jorge Anjos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rabacos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Anjos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. André Melo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexandre Pinheiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Júlio Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Anjos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Seca booed when Rabacos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Leão in the 68th minute of play forced Seca's goalkeeper Júlio Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 minutes, Alexandre Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rabacos and the Seca players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 71st minute, Alexandre Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Henrique Gueifão from long distance, 73 minutes into the match, got Alexandre Pinheiro's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Paulo Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rabacos's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Leão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júlio Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basílio Pinho got free with Alexandre Pinheiro in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. André Melo had several of the Rabacos's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 85 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Alexandre Pinheiro as he didn't even see the shot coming. André Melo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alexandre Pinheiro came out and tried to block the shot, but André Melo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 89th minute. 96 minutes into the match, Rabacos's goalkeeper Alexandre Pinheiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basílio Pinho.
