After a rather tough play, Tagarro's Abel Soares got a free kick in the 5th minute. If Hugo Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 14 minutes, Carlos Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tagarro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Sá was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Samao FC's Adelino Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Trindade in the 19th minute of play. Viriato Borba's late challenge caught a Tagarro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Viriato Borba helped the player get up and apologised. Viriato Borba kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Humberto Trindade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Daniel Faro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Pinho in the 29th minute of the match. Hugo Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Santos having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Samao FC's Hugo Pinho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alfredo Santos. That made the score 1-0 after 39 minutes of play. A collision led to Samao FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Afonso Amaral hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Sá in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adelino Neto saved Samao FC from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Humberto Trindade made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Carlos Sá made a precise shot to the right of Adelino Neto. Samao FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Tagarro's Humberto Trindade slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Adelino Neto. That made the score 1-2 after 58 minutes of play. Carlos Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adelino Neto having to interfere. After having played for 71 minutes, Hugo Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Machado in the 74th minute of play forced Tagarro's goalkeeper Alfredo Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tagarro's Alfredo Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Pinho in the 77th minute of play. Samao FC's Viriato Borba pulled a muscle in his leg after 81 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Abel Soares fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tagarro's protests and gave Abel Soares a yellow card for diving instead. After 82 played minutes Tagarro got a freekick which was hit by Abel Soares. 83 minutes into the match, Samao FC's José Machado broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Daniel Faro struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Alfredo Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Samao FC. Tagarro were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Samao FC's much stronger midfield.
