Sérgio Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquim Luz charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquim Luz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th match minute, SC Alcogulhe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Luz to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Amaro in the 18th minute of play forced SC Alcogulhe's goalkeeper Sérgio Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sérgio Barros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francisco Amaro's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. 27 minutes into the game, Lourenço Vieira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alcareia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Alcogulhe the free kick. In the 27th match minute, Alcareia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lourenço Vieira to maneuver through the defense. Nuno Leite charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. SC Alcogulhe's Sérgio Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Amaro in the 33rd minute of play. Adolfo Leiria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquim Alves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sérgio Barros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. After 41 played minutes SC Alcogulhe got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Bessa. Sebastião Assunção, 42 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Joaquim Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Adolfo Leiria managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Alcogulhe's supporters rose to their feet, but Adolfo Leiria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Neto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 60 minutes, Rui Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Alcogulhe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Figueiredo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sérgio Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Adolfo Leiria struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. João Neto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Alcogulhe. In the 71st match minute, Alcareia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Barros to maneuver through the defense. If Francisco Amaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in SC Alcogulhe's zone, Paulo Bessa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sérgio Barros came out of the goal and Paulo Bessa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francisco Amaro struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Sérgio Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alcareia. Adolfo Leiria succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 92nd playminute. SC Alcogulhe's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
