If Rui Jesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Devesas's Miguel Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Jesus in the 12th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Lobata's zone, Alexandre Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Baptista came out of the goal and Alexandre Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adolfo Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Valente, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 29th minute of the game. One of SC Devesas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lobata:s goal. The referee gave Lobata a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Miguel Mendes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Devesas's Miguel Reis. 1-1. Diamantino Fontes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miguel Reis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. If Rui Jesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the SC Devesas defense, Diamantino Fontes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miguel Reis. The SC Devesas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miguel Reis should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexandre Simões to make the kick off. Alexandre Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Adolfo Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Devesas's Simão Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 56th minute Alexandre Simões shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adolfo Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of SC Devesas booed when Lobata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miguel Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 61 minutes in the game, Diamantino Fontes fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Miguel Reis having to interfere. A collision led to SC Devesas getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Simão Rodrigues hit a great ball. In the 76th minute, Rui Jesus made a precise shot to the right of Miguel Reis. SC Devesas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. After having played for 84 minutes, Diamantino Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lobata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diamantino Fontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alberto Nunes kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Alexandre Simões recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
