Manuel Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Delgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. After 30 played minutes SC Arez got a freekick which was hit by Marco Coelho. After a defensive mix-up in SC Arez's zone, Hugo Delgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Reis came out of the goal and Hugo Delgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernardo Leiria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Borba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the game, Luís Martins cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Manuel Reis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Borba in the 41st minute of play forced SC Agucadeira's goalkeeper Bernardo Leiria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Agucadeira's zone, Alberto Aguiar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Leiria came out of the goal and Alberto Aguiar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manuel Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Delgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to SC Arez getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Marco Coelho hit a great ball. SC Arez's Manuel Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Delgado in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jaime Borba made a kick off. Hugo Delgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Reis having to interfere. Alberto Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SC Arez booed when SC Agucadeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júlio Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute, Alberto Aguiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jaime Borba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, SC Agucadeira's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Borba came free, but Bernardo Leiria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alberto Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Manuel Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristiano Barbosa hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Hugo Delgado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manuel Reis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. If Luís Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Delgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Manuel Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Aguiar in the 85thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bernardo Leiria, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 89 minutes into the match, SC Agucadeira's goalkeeper Bernardo Leiria had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Aguiar. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
