Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) SC Arez's Jaime Borba started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jorge Henriques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Reis having to interfere. A collision led to Cividade FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Cândido Miranda hit a great ball. After 13 played minutes Cividade FC got a freekick which was hit by José Santarém. After 14 minutes, Luís Anjos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cividade FC and the SC Arez players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Cividade FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Luís Anjos hit a great ball. Jaime Borba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Cividade FC's Luís Anjos got a free kick in the 21st minute. 24 minutes into the match, SC Arez's Ricardo Domingues broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eusébio Carvalho during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cividade FC's goalkeeper Inácio Cardoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 37 minutes, Armindo Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Arez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armindo Correia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eusébio Leal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Cividade FC's zone, Alberto Aguiar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inácio Cardoso came out of the goal and Alberto Aguiar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Inácio Cardoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Aguiar in the 70th minute of the match. Alberto Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eusébio Leal struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Manuel Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cividade FC. In the 76th match minute, SC Arez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Pedroso to maneuver through the defense. Inácio Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Aguiar in the 79th minute of play. After 85 played minutes SC Arez got a freekick which was hit by Marco Coelho. Eusébio Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Reis was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Eusébio Carvalho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eusébio Carvalho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. SC Arez's Manuel Reis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save SC Arez from getting a goal against them. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cividade FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
