But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Trindade couldn't finish the play. 34 minutes into the match, SC Monchina's goalkeeper Joaquim Antunes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Trindade. Carlos Trindade's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquim Antunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Joaquim Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adelino Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. When Adelino Aguiar came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Marrazes fans jumped to their feet. After a rather tough play, Marrazes's Fernando Dias got a free kick in the 41st minute. After 43 played minutes SC Monchina got a freekick which was hit by Vasco Brito. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Adelino Aguiar took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Joaquim Antunes to make any attempt to save it.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adelino Aguiar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of SC Monchina booed when Marrazes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Delgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Gabriel Pacheco managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 84th match minute, Marrazes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogério Morais to maneuver through the defense.
