In the 19thth minute of the game Amadeu Assis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sardos FC's José Lima was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Manuel Gueifão charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manuel Gueifão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sardos FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Manuel Gueifão hit a great ball. José Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duarte Guerreiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute Duarte Guerreiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lúcio Aleixo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Aleixo having to interfere. 33 minutes into the game, Amadeu Assis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. José Lima was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Raul Aleixo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Gueifão, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Sardos FC's zone, Amadeu Assis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Lima came out of the goal and Amadeu Assis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th match minute, Sardos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Leite to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Sardos FC defense, Duarte Guerreiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Lima. The Sardos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Lima should have stopped the shot. After the first half SC Senharei were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Lúcio Aleixo made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hugo Pires during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sardos FC's Hugo Pires got a free kick in the 58th minute. Duarte Guerreiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amadeu Assis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pedro Fonseca took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 64th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for José Lima. Sardos FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Lúcio Aleixo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sardos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lúcio Aleixo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raul Aleixo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Raul Aleixo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lúcio Aleixo in the 72nd minute of the match. Raul Aleixo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Branco in the 76th minute of play. Ricardo Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The SC Senharei supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Senharei would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
