The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Amadeu Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Soares in the 7th minute of the match. Manuel Gueifão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Domingues in the 9th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Domingues in the 13th minute of play forced Bairral FC's goalkeeper Manuel Gueifão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emílio Mota in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Amadeu Veiga, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Manuel Gueifão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raul Domingues went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Alburitel getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Armindo Pedroso hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, one of Alburitel:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Alburitel. When the match had been going on for 24 minutes, Bairral FC's Gil Lima got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Amadeu Veiga. Eduardo Branco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manuel Gueifão having to make a save. Raul Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Gueifão having to interfere. Alburitel's Raul Domingues got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amadeu Veiga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diogo Soares's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. A collision led to Alburitel getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Eduardo Moura hit a great ball. Amadeu Veiga was a little too slow when Emílio Mota got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Eduardo Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Eduardo Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute, Sérgio Rodrigues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
