Gaspar Gueifão's late challenge caught a Cerdeirinhas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gaspar Gueifão helped the player get up and apologised. Gaspar Gueifão hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Cerdeirinhas FC's Joaquim Nascimento tried to score from far away in the 5th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 9th minute Diogo Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Ramos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diogo Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After 10 played minutes Cerdeirinhas FC got a freekick which was hit by Albertino Santos. 13 minutes into the match, Bairral FC's Diogo Soares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Ramos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 18 minutes into the game, Carlos Leiria cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Manuel Gueifão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Diogo Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Ramos having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Diogo Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bairral FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Soares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Ramos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gaspar Gueifão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. João Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cerdeirinhas FC's goalkeeper João Ramos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Viriato Delgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 48th minute, Rui Mendes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
After 52 minutes of play, Bairral FC's Sérgio Rodrigues made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. João Ramos was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Cerdeirinhas FC's João Ramos got control of the ball when Sérgio Rodrigues tried to sneak it across the goal line. Viriato Delgado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sérgio Rodrigues got free with João Ramos in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 62 minutes into the match, Cerdeirinhas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diogo Soares came free, but João Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute, Cerdeirinhas FC's Armindo Viana seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Armindo Viana the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Cerdeirinhas FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Armindo Viana had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 64th minute, one of Cerdeirinhas FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cerdeirinhas FC. The goalkeeper, João Ramos, was totally fooled by Bairral FC's Gil Lima, who 67 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 69th minute, Viriato Delgado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute, Sérgio Rodrigues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Diogo Soares struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. João Ramos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bairral FC. After some careless play in the Cerdeirinhas FC defense, Sérgio Rodrigues kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Ramos. The Cerdeirinhas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Ramos should have stopped the shot. João Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Soares in the 88th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Cerdeirinhas FC's Albertino Santos got a free kick in the 93rd minute. After recieving a nice pass, Bairral FC's Gil Lima tried to score from far away in the 94th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Diogo Soares reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of João Ramos. The goal made the score 1-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Bairral FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
