Gonçalo Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Nuno Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Montalvao FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Lourenço Ferreira 5 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Montalvao FC's Nuno Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lourenço Ferreira in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute Gil Pinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of SC Moscavide booed when Montalvao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, SC Moscavide's Gonçalo Ribeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nuno Araújo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When SC Moscavide's Lourenço Ferreira in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 34th minute Adolfo Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 37 minutes, Fernando Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montalvao FC and the SC Moscavide players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gonçalo Ribeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuno Araújo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Hélder Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Montalvao FC's Nuno Araújo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Montalvao FC from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Adolfo Moura's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armindo Fonseca was relentless in the 47th minute of the game.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lourenço Ferreira made a kick off. Nuno Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lourenço Ferreira in the 61st minute of the match. In the 77th minute, SC Moscavide's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gil Pinto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 80th match minute, Montalvao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Vale to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute, one of SC Moscavide:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Moscavide. The goalkeeper, Armindo Fonseca, was totally fooled by Montalvao FC's Afonso Vieira, who 87 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
