Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alexandre Domingues started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Covelas's Jorge Jesus sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Aguiar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Covelas's Jorge Nascimento got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the SC Belmonte defense, Jorge Jesus kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Aguiar. The SC Belmonte fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Aguiar should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, SC Belmonte's Carlos Aguiar got control of the ball when Jorge Nascimento tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carlos Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Jesus in the 13th minute of play. 2-0 became the score in the 18th minute when Jorge Jesus elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. SC Belmonte's Armindo Nunes got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, SC Belmonte's Carlos Aguiar got control of the ball when Jorge Nascimento tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Nascimento got free with Carlos Aguiar in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alexandre Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. João Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandre Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorge Jesus stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. João Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Thanks to some nice moves Armindo Nunes could shoot a difficult shot in the 55th minute, which João Antunes however easily saved by the left post. The corner led Covelas's Vicente Almeida to fire away a dangerous shot which Carlos Aguiar despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Alexandre Domingues struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. João Antunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Belmonte. Carlos Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Jesus in the 72nd minute of play. Jorge Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armindo Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After recieving a nice pass, Covelas's Vicente Almeida tried to score from far away in the 82nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Carlos Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Jorge Jesus blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Aguiar having to make a save. Carlos Aguiar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorge Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Covelas's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
