Carlos Sousa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Vilarelhe FC's Daniel Viana got a free kick in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Magalhães in the 12th minute of play forced Vilarelhe FC's goalkeeper Henrique Henriques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amadeu Leite in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Sousa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Amadeu Leite sped through SC Lameira's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carlos Sousa. Henrique Henriques made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Pedro Amaral sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of SC Lameira booed when Vilarelhe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Anjos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Amaral got free with Henrique Henriques in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carlos Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeu Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Joaquim Gueifão kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. António Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Henrique Henriques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When David Araújo came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Vilarelhe FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Araújo couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Henrique Henriques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Amaral in the 51st minute of play. In the 52nd minute, Pedro Amaral made a precise shot to the right of Henrique Henriques. Vilarelhe FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in SC Lameira's zone, Amadeu Leite stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Sousa came out of the goal and Amadeu Leite tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, SC Lameira's Carlos Sousa got control of the ball when Rui Carvalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Amadeu Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rui Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rui Carvalho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 68thth minute, Carlos Sousa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Pedro Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. David Araújo kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. SC Lameira's André Carneiro couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Vilarelhe FC. Henrique Henriques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Magalhães in the 75th minute of play. If Rui Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Augusto Anjos fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vilarelhe FC's protests and gave Augusto Anjos a yellow card for diving instead. If Rui Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the match, SC Lameira's goalkeeper Carlos Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rui Carvalho.
