Malfrades's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Gomes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 20 minutes into the game, Rodrigo Pacheco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Júlio Guerreiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Armindo Setúbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristiano Vieira's late challenge caught a Malfrades's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristiano Vieira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th match minute, Bandulha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristiano Vieira to maneuver through the defense. Filipe Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Malfrades booed when Bandulha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cândido Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Júlio Guerreiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Pacheco in the 35th minute of the match. With a little luck, Malfrades's José Nogueira got control of the ball when Francisco Leiria tried to sneak it across the goal line. José Nogueira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armindo Setúbal's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Júlio Guerreiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Pacheco in the 40th minute of play. A collision led to Bandulha getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Alexandre Lopes hit a great ball. After the first half Malfrades were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rodrigo Pacheco to strike the kick off in the second half. Júlio Guerreiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Pacheco, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After having played for 59 minutes, Francisco Leiria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A wasted opportunity for Malfrades. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armindo Setúbal in the 87th minute of play forced Malfrades's goalkeeper José Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rodrigo Pacheco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Malfrades's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
