Fernando Paredes kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Gaspar Miranda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Pinto, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Paredes during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Amadeu Jesus fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Engenheiro's protests and gave Amadeu Jesus a yellow card for diving instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

José Pinho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Carlos Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeu Jesus in the 90th minute of the match. The supporters of Engenheiro booed when SC Bronceda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lourenço Moniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Setúbal in the 93rd minute of play. The SC Bronceda supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Bronceda would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
