Rodrigo Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, SC Carapelhos's goal looked a bit too open when Lourenço Teixeira came free, but Rodrigo Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonso Carvalho in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodrigo Leite saved SC Carapelhos from getting behind. 23 minutes into the match, Poupas FC's goalkeeper Nuno Oliveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernando Vale. Fernando Vale who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Nuno Oliveira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Fernando Vale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Nuno Oliveira made a huge save. Paulo Morais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Nuno Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Oliveira didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 31st minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. After having played for 34 minutes, Fernando Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Carapelhos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernando Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Carvalho in the 42nd minute of play forced SC Carapelhos's goalkeeper Rodrigo Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44thth minute of the game Lourenço Teixeira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Carapelhos's Rodrigo Leite was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vasco Leão hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, Rafael Resende sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Poupas FC's Nuno Oliveira didn't even have to move. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Morais stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Viriato Viegas kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Rafael Resende took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nuno Oliveira. Poupas FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 59 minutes, Cláudio Domingues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Poupas FC and the SC Carapelhos players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Poupas FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Cláudio Domingues hit a great ball. SC Carapelhos's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rafael Resende in the 62nd minute. When Lourenço Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Poupas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lourenço Teixeira couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Poupas FC booed when SC Carapelhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Afonso Carvalho in the 70th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Rodrigo Leite kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-1 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. After 74 played minutes SC Carapelhos got a freekick which was hit by Lúcio Viegas. Catarino Amaro's shot from long distance in the 75th minute was not bad at all, but SC Carapelhos's Rodrigo Leite knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. The Poupas FC fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Poupas FC's Afonso Carvalho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cláudio Domingues hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Rafael Resende took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nuno Oliveira. Poupas FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Poupas FC's Afonso Carvalho in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Carapelhos's goalie prevented a goal. 98 minutes into the match, SC Carapelhos's Fernando Vale sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nuno Oliveira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Poupas FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
