In the 27th minute Afonso Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristiano Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Cruz having to interfere. Cândido Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diamantino Guarda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes into the match, Gamil's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Barros came free, but Mário Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aroeira's Cristiano Veiga got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Afonso Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mário Cruz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Cândido Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Guarda, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Aroeira's Cândido Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Guarda in the 45th minute of play. In the 48th minute, Cristiano Veiga fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Mário Cruz, passed just outside the right post. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Afonso Barros to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Barros in the 53rd minute of play forced Gamil's goalkeeper Mário Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cândido Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diamantino Guarda in the 56th minute of the match. If Afonso Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th match minute, Gamil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Guerreiro to maneuver through the defense. If Humberto Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the game, Nuno Ribeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aroeira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gamil the free kick. Gamil's Humberto Dantas got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Humberto Dantas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Cândido Andrade when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 75th minute, Diamantino Guarda reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cândido Andrade. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 81stth minute of the game Afonso Barros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gamil's Mário Cruz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Diamantino Guarda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Cândido Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diamantino Guarda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cândido Andrade having to interfere.
