After a defensive mix-up in Subportela's zone, Mariano Gomes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Martins came out of the goal and Mariano Gomes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 15 minutes, Augusto Pinheiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Subportela and the Picha FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Subportela's Augusto Pinheiro got a free kick in the 15th minute. Afonso Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Resende in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Sandro Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Subportela's Augusto Pinheiro got his second yellow card of the match in the 26th minute. The referee ordered Augusto Pinheiro off the ground. In the 27th match minute, Subportela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. Eusébio Nunes might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Afonso Martins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eusébio Nunes ran back to his position shaking his head. Afonso Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio Nunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the game, Amadeu Queirós was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Subportela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Picha FC the free kick. Jorge Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mário Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 39th minute, Gonçalo Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Afonso Martins had great luck who in the 40thth minute grab hold of the ball when Eusébio Nunes from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Eusébio Nunes didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-2 via right post in the game's 40th minute. Picha FC's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! In the 44th minute, Armando Resende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Subportela were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Gonçalo Neto got free with Jorge Maia in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 54 minutes into the match, Subportela's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Gomes came free, but Afonso Martins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mário Antunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mariano Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eusébio Nunes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Afonso Martins having to make a save. Amadeu Queirós got his second yellow card in the match during the 73rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Picha FC booed when Subportela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Picha FC's Mariano Gomes in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Subportela's goalie prevented a goal. 83 minutes into the match, Subportela's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Gomes came free, but Afonso Martins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Afonso Martins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mariano Gomes's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. After 87 played minutes Subportela got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Neto. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
