But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Matias couldn't finish the play. David Maia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diamantino Mendes in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Moura in the 20th minute of play forced SC Liteiros's goalkeeper André Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Matias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Maia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Diamantino Mendes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but David Maia made a huge save. In the 32nd minute, Jorge Matias fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of David Maia, passed just outside the right post. In the 39th minute Pedro Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gabriel Leal hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. André Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

In the 52nd minute of the match João Assis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but David Maia skillfully saved the ball. Jorge Matias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. David Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 68 minutes into the match, SC Liteiros's goalkeeper André Castro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Moura. 73 minutes into the match, Jorge Matias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Maia. Mouraz FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorge Matias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in SC Liteiros's zone, Pedro Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Castro came out of the goal and Pedro Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joaquim Melo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. Mouraz FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Diamantino Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Liteiros's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
