An unexpectedly hard shot by David Maia in the 11th minute of play forced SC Avitouro's goalkeeper Alberto Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 played minutes SC Avitouro got a freekick which was hit by Viriato Campos. David Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Alberto Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that David Maia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alberto Cruz was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. In the 36th minute, Delfim Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Jaime Cardoso came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the SC Avitouro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Cardoso couldn't finish the play. Contraste's Júlio Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delfim Teixeira in the 43rd minute of play. Jaime Cardoso took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Júlio Barros. Júlio Barros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Delfim Teixeira was the one to do the kick off. Vítor Moniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alberto Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Contraste's David Maia got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joaquim Assunção received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Júlio Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Delfim Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Barros having to interfere. Júlio Barros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Delfim Teixeira's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Delfim Teixeira scored 2-0 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Júlio Barros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 90 minutes into the match, Joaquim Assunção had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Júlio Barros. Contraste's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joaquim Assunção was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Vítor Moniz in the 94thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alberto Cruz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Alberto Cruz made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Rui Gonçalves sent off a good shot on target. SC Avitouro's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
