Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Óscar Domingues started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Delgado in the 5th minute of play forced SC Monsarves's goalkeeper José Anjos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rui Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Óscar Domingues in the 7th minute of play. If Óscar Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Óscar Domingues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rui Veiga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Vieiras's goalkeeper Rui Veiga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Vieiras's goalkeeper Rui Veiga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucas Matos. José Macedo's late challenge caught a SC Monsarves's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. SC Monsarves's José Anjos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Porto in the 29th minute of play. Sérgio Delgado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, SC Monsarves's Hélder Garcia got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Vieiras's Sérgio Delgado got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Vieiras's António Santos got a free kick in the 41st minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After having played for 76 minutes, José Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vieiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Macedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78thth minute of the game Óscar Domingues who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vieiras's Rui Veiga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lucas Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Rui Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vieiras would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
