Diamantino Coelho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sérgio Setúbal. Beringel's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Abel Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Reis in the 9th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Almijofa's Oliveira Figueiredo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sérgio Setúbal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Beringel's Alexandre Macedo got a free kick in the 70th minute. Almijofa's Oliveira Figueiredo got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 73 minutes into the game, Jorge Mota was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Beringel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Almijofa the free kick. Sérgio Setúbal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Albertino Setúbal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Sérgio Setúbal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristiano Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Faria having to interfere. Almijofa were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Beringel for a fine match.
