Palhagueira FC's Cândido Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Castro in the 21st minute of play. Armando Carneiro kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Júlio Assunção fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Monteiro having to interfere. A hard shot by Miguel Abreu from long distance, 27 minutes into the match, got Cândido Mota's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a rather tough play, Palhagueira FC's Amadeu Anjos got a free kick in the 28th minute. José Simões could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Cândido Mota made a huge save. Afonso Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, José Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Palhagueira FC's Júlio Assunção in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sapelos FC's goalie prevented a goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Júlio Assunção made a kick off. If Eusébio Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eusébio Castro struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Cândido Mota didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sapelos FC. When Sapelos FC's Eusébio Castro in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palhagueira FC's goalie prevented a goal. 61 minutes into the game, one of Palhagueira FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Torres during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 72 minutes, José Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sapelos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Simões was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Palhagueira FC's Cândido Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Castro in the 73rd minute of play. Vasco Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Paulo Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Assunção, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After 86 minutes of play Palhagueira FC's Vasco Macedo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 87th match minute, Palhagueira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasco Macedo to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Sapelos FC's Paulo Monteiro got control of the ball when Afonso Garcia tried to sneak it across the goal line.
