The supporters of SC Cunhedo booed when Marvoes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Valente was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 6th minute. Marvoes's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 8 minutes into the match, David Jesus notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Marvoes's Alberto Gomes. Alberto Gomes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When David Jesus came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the SC Cunhedo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Jesus couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Valente in the 16th minute of play forced SC Cunhedo's goalkeeper Cristiano Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Mendes struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Cristiano Moura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marvoes. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorge Valente in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristiano Moura prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marvoes's Alberto Gomes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Jesus in the 24th minute of play. SC Cunhedo's Cristiano Moura proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save SC Cunhedo from getting a goal against them. Amílcar Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquim Vaz kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Amílcar Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Cristiano Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Marvoes's goal looked a bit too open when Diamantino Nogueira came free, but Alberto Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With 40 minutes on the clock, Cristóvão Amaral commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 40th minute, one of Marvoes:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Marvoes. Amílcar Cardoso might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristiano Moura. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amílcar Cardoso ran back to his position shaking his head. Jorge Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diamantino Nogueira was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves David Jesus could shoot a difficult shot in the 52nd minute, which Alberto Gomes however easily saved by the left post. When Fábio Valente fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marvoes's protests and gave Fábio Valente a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 59 minutes, Amílcar Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marvoes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amílcar Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amílcar Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amílcar Cardoso in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristiano Moura saved SC Cunhedo from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eduardo Moniz during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eduardo Moniz kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. When Amílcar Cardoso came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Marvoes fans jumped to their feet.
