After some careless play in the Lumiares defense, Diamantino Miranda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Simão Reis. The Lumiares fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Simão Reis should have stopped the shot. When SC Palhal's Paulo Vieira in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lumiares's goalie prevented a goal. Paulo Vieira might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Simão Reis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Vieira ran back to his position shaking his head. If Diamantino Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Ramos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Júlio Ferreira's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Bento Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 21 played minutes SC Palhal got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Maia. Lumiares's Júlio Ferreira got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Júlio Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Ramos having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Júlio Ferreira in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Augusto Ramos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in SC Palhal's zone, Júlio Ferreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Ramos came out of the goal and Júlio Ferreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diamantino Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Simão Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th match minute, SC Palhal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. Augusto Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bento Pinheiro in the 38th minute of play. Bento Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Ferreira in the 42nd minute of play forced SC Palhal's goalkeeper Augusto Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bento Pinheiro struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Augusto Ramos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lumiares.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Vieira was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to SC Palhal getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Diamantino Miranda hit a great ball. If Fernando Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bento Pinheiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute, Paulo Vieira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Simão Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Miranda in the 62nd minute of play. In the 65th match minute, SC Palhal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. If Bento Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Júlio Ferreira put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Augusto Ramos. Júlio Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Bento Pinheiro came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Lumiares fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bento Pinheiro couldn't finish the play. Augusto Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Ferreira in the 79th minute of play. Bento Pinheiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Augusto Ramos made a huge save. A collision led to SC Palhal getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Diamantino Miranda hit a great ball. If Paulo Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Reis having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
