Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) SC Satao's Jorge Reis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rdth minute of the game Jorge Reis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Monsul's Joaquim Paredes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 9th minute of the match, Fábio Machado got a very nice opportunity to score, but Joaquim Paredes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Jorge Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 14 minutes into the game, Rui Almeida was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Monsul's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Satao the free kick. After 14 played minutes Monsul got a freekick which was hit by Rui Almeida. In the 15th minute, Fábio Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SC Satao's Raul Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heitor Araújo in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute Jorge Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Heitor Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Leão having to interfere. If Heitor Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Heitor Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Monsul's Joaquim Paredes got control of the ball when Fábio Machado tried to sneak it across the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The wind increased when Heitor Araújo made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Vasco Vaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vasco Setúbal hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Heitor Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Heitor Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Leão having to interfere. In the 63rd match minute, SC Satao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Reis to maneuver through the defense. Heitor Araújo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to SC Satao getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Afonso Martins hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the game, Heitor Araújo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Raul Leão. Heitor Araújo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Heitor Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Leão having to interfere. When Monsul's Heitor Araújo in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Satao's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Reis in the 75th minute of play forced Monsul's goalkeeper Joaquim Paredes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 78 minutes, Ricardo Pacheco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monsul and the SC Satao players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Monsul getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Ricardo Pacheco hit a great ball. When Fábio Machado came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the SC Satao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fábio Machado couldn't finish the play. In the 83rd minute, Fábio Machado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquim Paredes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Pedro Martins fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Satao's protests and gave Pedro Martins a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th match minute, SC Satao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Martins to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the game, Heitor Matias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Raul Leão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Monsul supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Monsul would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
