Lapinhas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caveira FC the free kick. After 43 played minutes Lapinhas got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Pedroso. Lapinhas's Vicente Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristóvão Lima in the 45th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Vítor Pacheco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caveira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Pacheco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vicente Antunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
