Maios FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Gonçalves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 6 played minutes, Pinduradouro FC's Daniel Valente shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marco Valente came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pinduradouro FC reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Maios FC's zone, Miguel Pedroso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Valente came out of the goal and Miguel Pedroso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Afonso Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 11th minute, Eusébio Castro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of José Andrade. The goal made the score 1-0. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Afonso Gonçalves took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for José Andrade to make any attempt to save it. Afonso Gonçalves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but José Andrade made a huge save. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Maios FC! In the 31st minute there was a penalty for Pinduradouro FC. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eusébio Castro was the one to do the kick off. In the 55thth minute of the game Afonso Gonçalves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pinduradouro FC's José Andrade was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 57 minutes of play, Maios FC's Eusébio Castro made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Andrade was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 68 played minutes Maios FC got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Magalhães. Pinduradouro FC's Miguel Pedroso got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 71 played minutes Maios FC got a freekick which was hit by João Vieira. When Cândido Brás came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Pinduradouro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cândido Brás couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Valente during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pinduradouro FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 77th minute. Penalty! In the 79th minute there was a penalty for Maios FC. Joaquim Fernandes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving José Andrade. 4-2. If Miguel Pedroso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Pedroso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Marco Valente made a huge save. Cândido Brás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Valente having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nuno Lima during the 99th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 99th match minute, Maios FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Lima to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Domingos Araújo from long distance, 100 minutes into the match, got Marco Valente's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.
