The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Pedro Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boleta FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Pinheiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 6 minutes, Fernando Baptista made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Monsul's António Andrade tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Marco Moniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Moniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Brito having to interfere. Boleta FC's João Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Mendes in the 21st minute of play. Marco Moniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. João Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marco Moniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 37 minutes into the match, Monsul's Marco Moniz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Brito narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rui Mendes was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Boleta FC's goalkeeper João Brito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marco Moniz. João Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Mendes in the 54th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Marco Moniz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monsul's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco Moniz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Brito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Monsul's Rui Mendes in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Boleta FC's goalie prevented a goal. Jacinto Garcia's late challenge caught a Monsul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacinto Garcia helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th minute, Jacinto Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Monsul's António Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Baptista in the 65th minute of play. Rui Mendess short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got João Brito to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Pedro Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute of the match David Magalhães shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but António Andrade showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Marco Moniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the game, Rui Leal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Monsul's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boleta FC the free kick. Pedro Pinheiro was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. A collision led to Monsul getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Eusébio Pereira hit a great ball. In the 94th match minute, Boleta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. Armindo Marques received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. João Brito came out and tried to block the shot, but Armindo Marques slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 95th minute. The Monsul players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Boleta FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
