Luís Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Pacheco, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Limarinho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Artur Amaro came free, but José Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rdth minute of the game Manuel Pacheco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ouca FC's Luís Leão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Limarinho FC's José Pires got control of the ball when Cândido Domingues tried to sneak it across the goal line. Afonso Borges's late challenge caught a Limarinho FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonso Borges helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ouca FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 28th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Limarinho FC a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Abel Amaral, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ouca FC's Luís Leão. 0-2. A collision led to Limarinho FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Tiago Matias hit a great ball. After having played for 40 minutes, Cândido Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ouca FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cândido Domingues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Limarinho FC's Manuel Pacheco got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Limarinho FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Francisco Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Manuel Pacheco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Cândido Domingues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Pires was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Ouca FC's Cândido Domingues got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Artur Amaro in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Pires saved Limarinho FC from getting behind.
