In the 44th match minute, Noura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Santarém to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the match, Noura's goal looked a bit too open when Basílio Alves came free, but Cláudio Nogueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Emílio Matias fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Noura's protests and gave Emílio Matias a yellow card for diving instead. After 46 played minutes Noura got a freekick which was hit by Emílio Matias. After 49 minutes Noura's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joaquim Lisboa who took care of the corner kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardo Lopes made a kick off. Joaquim Aguiar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. The Noura fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Jorge Baptista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardo Lopes's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. Manuel Gonçalves hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Noura eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
