Fernando Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Castro in the 5th minute of the match. Rui Viegas struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Fernando Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Chapa. Rodrigo Sá's late challenge caught a Branzelo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The attack was good, but when Rui Viegas in the 43rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If Tomás Moniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emanuel Macedo was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Branzelo booed when SC Chapa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Branzelo supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Chapa's performance. The match ended with a win for SC Chapa.
