A collision led to SC Arado getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Francisco Lima hit a great ball. After 14 minutes of play, Caniceira FC's Alexandre Fonseca made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Afonso Oliveira was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Domingos Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armindo Trindade charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Armindo Trindade the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Caniceira FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Armindo Trindade hit a great ball. Paulo Branco hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, SC Arado's Fábio Soares tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Alexandre Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Afonso Lima's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Afonso Oliveira was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. If Domingos Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Afonso Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Domingos Paredes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Andrade having to interfere. Cândido Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Andrade having to interfere. Alexandre Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cândido Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 68th play minutes Afonso Lima shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Afonso Oliveira and just under the crossbar into goal. After 72 played minutes SC Arado got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Lima. Afonso Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Oliveira having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandre Fonseca got free with Afonso Oliveira in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Afonso Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Lima in the 81st minute of play. Alexandre Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Caniceira FC's Alberto Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingos Paredes in the 88th minute of play. Cândido Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Domingos Paredes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Caniceira FC's Alberto Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingos Paredes in the 93rd minute of play. During the 93rd minute of the match Armindo Trindade completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Armindo Trindade a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 94 played minutes Caniceira FC got a freekick which was hit by Armindo Trindade. Alberto Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cândido Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Caniceira FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
