To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexandre Oliveira came free with the goalkeeper in the 14th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Américo Miranda could save by the left post. If Alexandre Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Alexandre Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Adolfo Moutinho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Costa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Artur Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Costa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Artur Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head. Artur Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. José Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Pousa FC's Cristóvão Paredes got a free kick in the 41st minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Artur Rocha made a kick off. Artur Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 64 played minutes Saimes FC got a freekick which was hit by Artur Rocha. If Afonso Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Saimes FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
