After the first half Portela FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mário Brás to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardo Paiva got free with Tiago Moura in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bernardo Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Moura having to interfere. The SC Vilgateira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Bernardo Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Moura having to interfere. If Bernardo Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Portela FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SC Vilgateira throughout the match.
