Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 12 minutes, Eusébio Moniz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Óscar Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Moniz having to interfere. Eusébio Moniz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Óscar Alves in the 18th minute. Óscar Alves struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Eusébio Moniz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valdreu. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Viana during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Rebordinho booed when Valdreu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Viana didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Valdreu's Francisco Silva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Valdreu from getting a goal against them. Óscar Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Eusébio Moniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vasco Marques got free with Francisco Silva in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rebordinho's Vasco Marques got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Tiago Antunes came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Valdreu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiago Antunes couldn't finish the play. Henrique Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Silva having to interfere.
