The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gaspar Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Manuel Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lago FC's Manuel Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Lisboa in the 31st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Silva got free with Miguel Moreira in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hélder Cabral charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hélder Cabral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Humberto Cardoso was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vítor Lisboa to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, SC Monchite's Carlos Azevedo got a free kick in the 78th minute. Manuel Fernandes was out of position in the 80 minute of play, and Vítor Lisboa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Vítor Lisboa really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Miguel Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Rocha in the 85th minute of the match. Gaspar Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vítor Lisboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Fernandes having to interfere.
