Vítor Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Torres having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, Mandorelha's goal looked a bit too open when Oliveira Araújo came free, but Ricardo Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexandre Coimbra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Baptista having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Quelfes's zone, Alexandre Coimbra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Baptista came out of the goal and Alexandre Coimbra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexandre Coimbra scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Baptista, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Quelfes getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Vítor Gomes hit a great ball. Carlos Baptista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Óscar Alves's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. The supporters of Mandorelha booed when Quelfes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Óscar Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute Óscar Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Óscar Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Óscar Alves came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Mandorelha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Óscar Alves couldn't finish the play. Oliveira Araújo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vítor Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vítor Almeida the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vítor Almeida hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute, Sebastião Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jacinto Oliveira didn't quite understand what happened when in the 67 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Hugo Delgado hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Mandorelha's Ricardo Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliveira Araújo in the 69th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Amaro during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 72 played minutes Mandorelha got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Amaro. Oliveira Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorge Jesus blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Torres having to make a save. Mandorelha's Ricardo Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Gomes in the 78th minute of play. Óscar Alves was extremely unlucky when he, in the 80th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Ricardo Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliveira Araújo in the 83rd minute of play. With a little luck, Quelfes's Carlos Baptista got control of the ball when Alexandre Coimbra tried to sneak it across the goal line. When António Miranda fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quelfes's protests and gave António Miranda a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Quelfes's António Miranda got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 94th minute Vítor Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
