In the 32nd minute Daniel Amaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Guarda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Armindo Campos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Torres. Mandorelha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armindo Campos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Óscar Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mandorelha's supporters rose to their feet, but Óscar Alves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo Guarda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Mandorelha booed when Barqueiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Paredes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Vítor Almeida fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mandorelha's protests and gave Vítor Almeida a yellow card for diving instead.

Ricardo Torres made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rui Reis in the 57th minute. 65 minutes into the game, Rui Reis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Ricardo Torres was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Óscar Alves in the 72nd minute of play forced Barqueiro's goalkeeper Eduardo Guarda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rui Reis kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 75thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Mandorelha's keeper Ricardo Torres was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Rui Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mandorelha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Leite was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Barqueiro had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
