Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Adelino Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Pinto in the 4th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Gonçalves in the 8th minute of play forced SC Catem's goalkeeper Adelino Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristiano Pinto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adelino Antunes having to make a save. Avelal FC's Gustavo Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Américo Neves in the 19th minute of play. Jacinto Gonçalves might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adelino Antunes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacinto Gonçalves ran back to his position shaking his head. 28 minutes into the match, SC Catem's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Pinto came free, but Adelino Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SC Catem's zone, Jacinto Gonçalves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adelino Antunes came out of the goal and Jacinto Gonçalves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 39 minutes into the match, Avelal FC's goalkeeper Gustavo Matos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Machado.

The wind increased when Américo Neves made the kick off in the second half. Cristiano Pinto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the SC Catem defense, Cristiano Pinto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adelino Antunes. The SC Catem fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adelino Antunes should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Avelal FC's zone, Américo Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Matos came out of the goal and Américo Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustavo Matos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Américo Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Américo Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Américo Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandro Luz's late challenge caught a SC Catem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandro Luz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Avelal FC's Sandro Luz got a free kick in the 74th minute. SC Catem's Américo Neves managed to work through Avelal FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Américo Neves dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Gustavo Matos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Américo Neves in the 77th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in SC Catem's zone, Cristiano Pinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adelino Antunes came out of the goal and Cristiano Pinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Machado struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Gustavo Matos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Catem.
