Sebastião Silva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afonso Branco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Afonso Branco acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 39th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Alexandre Esteves. Sebastião Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. José Costa hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. With his leg Afonso Branco managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when SC Lavadores's Eusébio Lima fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alexandre Amaral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alexandre Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Antunes having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Alexandre Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Olhas's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandre Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Antunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SC Lavadores's Jorge Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Amaral in the 67th minute of play. In the 74th minute, SC Lavadores's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alexandre Amaral fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 76th minute, one of SC Lavadores:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Lavadores. The referee gave SC Olhas a penalty, 78 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by José Valente, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Lavadores's Jorge Antunes. 0-2. Bruno Aleixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexandre Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
