The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Fanadia FC booed when Torno FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Fanadia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Lopes came free, but Delfim Freitas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vítor Brás charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vítor Brás the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vítor Brás kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. The Torno FC fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Torno FC's Humberto Lopes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Vítor Amaro took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Delfim Freitas. Delfim Freitas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 32nd minute, Cristiano Santarém hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Delfim Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vítor Amaro in the 35th minute of the match. Cristiano Santarém hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Bruno Moniz's late challenge caught a Fanadia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Moniz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 37th minute, Bruno Moniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Humberto Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and André Correia made a kick off. The supporters of Fanadia FC booed when Torno FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute of the match João Amaral sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedro Santos skillfully saved the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Fanadia FC's goalkeeper Delfim Freitas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vítor Amaro. If Artur Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Pedro Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Humberto Lopes in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Delfim Freitas saved Fanadia FC from getting behind. A collision led to Fanadia FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Rodrigo Sá hit a great ball. With his leg Delfim Freitas managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Torno FC's Vítor Amaro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Lopes in the 89th minute of play forced Fanadia FC's goalkeeper Delfim Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Artur Porto came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Fanadia FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artur Porto couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Torno FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fanadia FC:s goal.
