Jorge Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, SC Cabreiros's goal looked a bit too open when Raul Abreu came free, but Jorge Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Carlos Miranda came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Andorinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Miranda couldn't finish the play. Jorge Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Miranda in the 11th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Carlos Miranda put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jorge Machado. If Alfredo Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filipe Pinheiro got free with Rafael Faro in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of SC Cabreiros booed when Andorinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Delgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by João Viegas in the 23rd minute really tested Rafael Faro's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Filipe Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the SC Cabreiros defense, Carlos Miranda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Machado. The SC Cabreiros fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Machado should have stopped the shot. Carlos Miranda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Machado having to make a save. Jorge Machado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abel Lima's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abel Lima to strike the kick off in the second half. If Filipe Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 61 minutes, Alfredo Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Cabreiros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 63 minutes of play, SC Cabreiros's Alfredo Branco made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rafael Faro was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 67th minute Alfredo Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Faro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute, Alfredo Branco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Cabreiros fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Branco in the 76th minute of play forced Andorinho's goalkeeper Rafael Faro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Abel Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute Filipe Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Faro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SC Cabreiros's zone, Alexandre Delgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Machado came out of the goal and Alexandre Delgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 87th minute of the game. One of SC Cabreiros:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Andorinho:s goal. 3-3 came in the 89th minute when Alexandre Cruz all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Jorge Machado. After a defensive mix-up in SC Cabreiros's zone, Abel Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Machado came out of the goal and Abel Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorge Machado was a little too slow when Abel Lima got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 3-4. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Andorinho eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
