With a little luck, Mafomedes FC's Cláudio Coimbra got control of the ball when Alexandre Branco tried to sneak it across the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Carlos Leiria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mafomedes FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Fraguas the free kick. Cristóvão Teixeira scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eusébio Valente, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Vítor Dias came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the SC Fraguas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vítor Dias couldn't finish the play. Vítor Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alberto Silva struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Eusébio Valente didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mafomedes FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Gustavo Ferro managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Fraguas's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustavo Ferro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Cláudio Coimbra successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Alberto Silva came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Mafomedes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Silva couldn't finish the play. Álvaro Cardoso's late challenge caught a Mafomedes FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Álvaro Cardoso helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mafomedes FC booed when SC Fraguas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Mafomedes FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristóvão Teixeira was the one to do the kick off. Vítor Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56thth minute of the game Vítor Dias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mafomedes FC's Cláudio Coimbra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Gustavo Ferro sped through Mafomedes FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cláudio Coimbra. SC Fraguas's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Cristóvão Teixeira scored to the left of an out of position Eusébio Valente, making the score, 1-2. Vítor Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Gustavo Ferro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cláudio Coimbra was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. 78 minutes into the game, one of Mafomedes FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
