Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Santos FC's Rogério Cabral started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rogério Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Cunha having to interfere. Artur Teixeira came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Almodovar's Fernando Borba. But to his dismay, Fernando Borba quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Sérgio Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. David Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Artur Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lourenço Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Lourenço Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Almodovar's supporters rose to their feet, but Lourenço Branco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artur Teixeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vítor Faro charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vítor Faro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Almodovar booed when Santos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Faro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lourenço Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rogério Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Cunha having to interfere. Sérgio Torres struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. David Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santos FC. In the 43rd match minute, SC Almodovar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lourenço Branco to maneuver through the defense. Santos FC's Artur Teixeira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Santos FC from getting a goal against them. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernando Borba was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Henrique Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to SC Almodovar getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Fernando Borba hit a great ball. Rogério Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Cunha having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Sérgio Torres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Sérgio Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogério Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Sérgio Torres reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of David Cunha. The goal made the score 1-2. SC Almodovar's David Cunha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save SC Almodovar from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Rogério Cabral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but David Cunha was relentless in the 90th minute of the game.
